Xiaomeng Qiao
Bio :
Xiaomeng Qiao is a psychoanalyst-in-training and doctoral student (PsyaD, Psychoanalysis, Society and Culture) at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, based in the United Kingdom. His doctoral research uses Laplanche's translation theory to investigate Chinese subjectivity, examining how cultural, colonial, and political formations shape unconscious life. He has published on Chinese culture, gender, queer experience, and AI in psychoanalytic journals including Psychoanalysis, Self and Context, Studies in Gender and Sexuality, and Psychoanalytic Inquiry, and writes for wider audiences through ROOM and The American Psychoanalyst. His current work sits at the intersection of psychoanalysis, cultural theory, and postcolonial critique, with a focus on practices of refusal and translation as modes of subject formation.
